Find The Love In Everything

This has been a consistently popular piece since I first wrote it, over 10 years ago. Unbelievably, I hadn’t posted it on this site before!

One of the greatest sayings I ever encountered and which changed my life the most at the time was that ‘True freedom is liking what you do, not doing what you like’. As a number one unruly individual who hated authority and conformity, it was a completely new way of looking at the balance between independence and involvement in life.

Peter Caddy, one of the founders of the Findhorn community in northern Scotland, was fond of quoting his Rosicrucian teacher Dr. Sullivan: ‘Learn to love the place you are in, the people you are with and the work you have to do.’ The point is of course to find something you can love about the place you are in, the people you are with and the work you are doing. Just forget the negatives and smile. This seems to me to encompass much the same philosophy.

But we can go further than that and say that everything in life becomes wonderful, worthwhile, pleasurable and meaningful if we put love into it. If you find that you cannot flow love into what you are doing, then it isn’t worth being involved with. If your task isn’t something you love doing, then it isn’t spiritually valuable to you. Original Research Into Communication Difficulties

Help me out on some original enquiries folks

I would like to say help with research but, with you guys, I know you would only think of medical science research. This is more sociology research, concerning communication difficulties we all have.

Communication is central to our Being. Elsewhere I have written that we only really “exist” to the degree that we communicate. If we didn’t communicate (connect) with anyone or anything, how could we be said to be there? Who would know!

I’ve written a lot about this theme, which is central to wellness and mind health. I came up with the idea of a “model answer”, meaning a good (intelligent) pre-patterned way of responding in certain critical situations.

OK, that blows spontaneity out of the window. But communication is important and, just as you wouldn’t go rock climbing without practicing the basic moves, why would we launch ourselves into relationships without rehearsing some of the basic exchanges?

You can be spontaneous about what you want to say, maybe, but it would be better to be practiced at getting the words out expertly. Continue reading

2012 a Great Time to be Alive!

Guest blog by Buryl Payne

For the past several years there has been much speculation about 2012, the supposed end of the Mayan Calendar.   It doesn’t end of course.   It is round and simply starts a new cycle like the clock striking midnight and starting to mark hours on another day.   The illustration above is my own beautiful two foot square Cloisonné Calendar, purchased in Mexico, over forty years ago.  The symbols in the calendar represent numbers. These calendars were probably made thousands of years before the Mayan people used them.

Scholars in recent times have finally learned how the calendar was used. While there is much ado about the connection between the calendar and current events on Earth in 2012, and much speculation about its relation to the galactic Center, let’s leave that, since there is nothing humankind can do about it now. This paper gives attention to alignments within our solar system happening now and in the next few months, which may have a direct impact on current events.

Personal Growth Is A Health Issue Too

Spiritual and mental improvements are just as much an important health issue as eating right and taking exercise.

I say this because I am constantly surprised that when I release some of my Kreissonetics™ materials (mind improvement, science of change, success strategies and financial health) that very few people seem to take me up on it.

Of course there are the loving, adventurous souls who want everything in life to be a delight. My hat is off to them. They have already signed up!

But what about the rest of you?

Can you not see that the ideal, healthy life is about balance and harmony of body, mind and soul?

In my book Get Healthy For Your Next 100 Years I point out that the single biggest factor in whether you will live long is state of mind! Yet most people, I find, are really inept when it comes to managing mind states and emotions.

We are reportedly the paragon of animals, intelligent beyond all other creatures; and so we are… But we are also about the dumbest animals on the planet. We race into wars over the slightest thing, causing the deaths of millions, without stopping to think.

We soil, pollute and destroy our own nest, so that our own future is in doubt.

We set money and property over the lives of others; indeed over the health of all the planet.

We communicate badly; we rarely say what we mean and can hardly make ourselves understood without quarrels and argument. Continue reading

Using Your Brain Hard Boosts Its Physical Size and Function

There is no doubt whatsoever in today’s science results that we can BUILD our brains. That’s why children grow up: we make them learn, expand and use their brains.

24 college students or recent graduates studying for law exams (pretty tough) were monitored with brain images, similar to MRI scans, to measure changes in brain volume and function. The study leader was Allyson Mackey, a graduate student in UC Berkeley’s Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute.

When used, brains grow. Pathways are strengthened. When used hard, they grow even more.

And IQ can be increased. This applies in adults, as well as developing children.

The old idea you are smart or not smart is fast becoming medieval, with burgeoning evidence to the contrary.

But there is a paradox here…

People with little or no brains, can still think and function normally. For example hydrocephalus cases, with as little as 10% residual brain tissue or even less, still think as usual; you couldn’t tell the difference. So far as I know, no-one has tried the brain plasticity enhancement technique with hydrocephalics… That would be interesting!

The study was published recently in the journal Frontiers in Neuroanatomy, August 22nd, 2012, and UC Berkeley issued a news release.

Singing Plants of Damanhur Are Conscious

Nobody who is fully aware of the nature of consciousness can escape the fact that all of Creation is alive and singing.

Plants can be wired to musical synthesizers and heard actually altering the sounds and creating their own melodies consciously. Here is a video made by the commune of Damanhur. You may remember in Hazel Courteney’s talk, I questioned her about her visit to Damanhur and what she shared with us was very exciting.

Listen now to the “sound” of conscious awareness. It’s delightful to behold!
