How simple and basic can success strategies get? I already posted my own look at a success formula. But for decades I’ve been looking at REALLY SIMPLE, REALLY STUPID logic and how people violate it, or ignore it.
Good thought structures and even half decent logic has the power to heal and transform. I know that. Too bad that most people don’t get it and choose magic and fairy talk, over cool reason!
Magical laws and stuff didn’t get us down from the trees and building TVs, computers, cars and rocket ships! Only what Samuel Firestone called “hard thinking”, as opposed to what I call “fluffy pink thoughts” of the New Agers.
I’m still waiting for #10 on my list of 10 Silly Basics of Reason. See if you can point me towards it, with ideas of your own.
This is absolute down low and dirty bottom-rung undercut LOGIC!
This is my Nine-So-Far Basics of Reason. Don’t swallow them all at once, or you’ll get indigestion!
- If it works, keep doing it!
- If it doesn’t work, stop doing it!
- Whenever something good happens, there is ALWAYS a reason for it. Find the reason and strengthen it.
- Whenever something bad happens, there is ALWAYS a reason. Find the reason and eliminate it.
- What works, works! If it’s worked before, it’ll likely work again!
- Life can change in an INSTANT. All it takes is a decision.
- If you don’t know, find out!
- Communicate. Make yourself known. If you don’t, nobody will know you are there.
- If it works one day, it will work ANY day.
- ???
That 10th on the list is out there, just waiting for me to grab it, for a perfect 10 out of 10!
#9, I got from my patients and medical expertise: If you can feel well, with no symptoms, on any one day, you can feel well every day! There is, by definition, nothing wrong, nothing busted, nothing missing, no genes, nothing PERMANENT, if you can have even just one day of good health! Never settle for less…
Well of course it applies to everything, not just health, otherwise I wouldn’t bring it up here. If you can sell a $million of widgets one day, you can sell a million every day! Get to work and see that you do! If you can paint a masterpiece one day, you can do it over and over.If you can write a page, you can write a novel. Get the idea?
Your comments are welcome.
UPDATE, Oct 27th:
To see what finally won, you need to read the second blog on this:
https://www.supernoetics.com/10-rules-of-healing-logic-2/
Don’t let pride hinder asking for help.
Reason, should never stop Reason
If two people think alike one is not necessary
What if you don’t know that you don’t know?
Close to one I’ve been thinking of Darryl,
All problems are, ultimately, something unknown.
you can find good reasons not to do something just as well as find good reasons to do it. Figure out what you really are up to in life and do it. You can find good reason to.
If it ain’t broke, DON’T FIX IT!
Ha, this old fave.
This might just be the one Sal!
I have always liked that one. people do seem to spend a lot of time trying to fix things that are not borken.
How about “Simple is Best” (also a Japanese saying)
or one of my absolute favorites: “Belief Creates Biology”.
That’s the one I was going to go for well done!
I once attended a seminar by a very bright and creative man that was part of the team that deveolped the numeric keypad. He started his talk by saying “If it isn’t broke, break it.” This idea of just going along with what works keeps people in the box, if you want to be creative you must get out of the box.
What works for one may not work for another !
If it dont work , make it work !
Maybe one of these two might be the one you like ?
I could give you a few more basic principles of self treatment but it will cost you – a lot.
Just as your answers to my questions regarding cancer once would cost me a lot.
No matter how how naturally brilliant, well educated and experienced you are, you won’t find the success you seek until you start providing solutions to the problems/challenges that your clients are facing.
Not quite sure about this one Jerry.
Is it just a vicious insult?
Comes over that way.
Of course I can’t run another person’s mind for them; I can only suggest ways of improving mentation and therefore outcomes.
Prof.
I read the you’s in Jerry’s post as “we”.
Don’t re-invent the wheel!
Splurge on your creations
If you are here today make all the right moves to be here tomorrow.
1. If is isn’t broken, don’t try to “fix” it.
2. Don’t let what you can’t do keep you from what you can do.
1. If there’s no change, there’s no change.
2. If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you always got.
Use determines Functiom, Function Determines Structure…. improper use is the foundation of illness
To be successful, you must be willing to be inconvenienced.
From “Thelma & Louise”
You get what you settle for!
Hmmm, always thought the Original Ten summed up our interactions nicely????
Don’t give up your search until you find the answer which is right for you — which you will then recognize.
Use your common sense
it was a choice you made that created your circumstance today
Keep your eyes on your goals – allow your subconscious mind to guide you around any obstacles till you are successful.
Never say never.. Never say I can’t
Alright, I have one You could use for # 10. There’s always “HOPE” once You’ve given up!
1.If it works, keep doing it!
2.If it doesn’t work, stop doing it!
3.Whenever something good happens, there is ALWAYS a reason for it. Find the reason and strengthen it.
4.Whenever something bad happens, there is ALWAYS a reason. Find the reason and eliminate it.
5.What works, works! If it’s worked before, it’ll likely work again!
6.Everything hinges on the decision. Not the beliefs: the DECISION.
7.If you don’t know, find out!
8.Communicate. Make yourself known. If you don’t, nobody will know you are there.
9.If it works one day, it might work ANY day.
10.Common Sense seems to always be the most help as long as morals are invovled !
1. The most basic thing every livung things wants is to be comfortable.
2. Discipline would solve most of the world’s problems.
#10? Be grateful for little blessings, and larger will follow.
Corollaries:
7a. If you do know, find out more.
8a. And remember, the problem with communication is that everyone thinks they’re doing it!
This a gift to be simple.
I do not agree with number nine. It fails to allow for extreme differences in the breadth of possible responses to common injuries.
For everything is one reason only!
Knowledge of where to get the knowledge, is power.
Nine-So-Far Basics of Reason
May I suggest the 10th Basic Reason “If it works for others, it can work for you” like the gravitational law.
I LIKE this one, Dr Ilyas.
I remember a more cynical version, from friends in the 1906s: if they are doing to you, they are doing it to others!
Prof.
If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it!!!
Love and believe in yourself.
Shit sometimes just happens
Somebody told me a funnier version of this Ben:
RULE #1 Sh** happens
RULE #2 Sh** happens often
RULE #3 In case of doubt, refer to rules #1 and #2!!
Common Sense and moral decision always intersect. God IS interested in our human affairs, and if He sees us standing in the gap with hope, common sense, and moral decision, God IS with us, using His healing power. Miracles DO happen.
I’ll suggest a quote from Alexander Pope:
Be not the first by whom the new is tried,
Nor yet the last, to cast the old aside.
Item 2 “If it don’t work stop doing it.
WRONG!!
We discover what works by trying many different wrongs until the right way reveals itself.
Fix the problem naturally, God never makes mistakes.
If it works everytime, it can be a lesson for others
# 10
If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it (anon)
Many of the suggestions guiven are in Dr. Mumby’s first 9. Wake up and get real.
There is nothing new under the sun and therefore whatever you are facing is not new and believe and seek the a solution to it and you will surely find it.
There is the old saying…… If it ain’t broke… don’t fix it.
For mind and soul: What goes around, comes around – so do good and wish well for all.
For body: drink and eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables.
Never admit failure until you’ve made your last attempt. Never make your last attempt until you’ve succeeded.
If there’s a ‘problem’, the solution can always be found within that problem!
Cease to revile and whine
For success then will be thine’s
you cannot improve on anything that
God has done
If nothing works be creative
If nothing works go back to number one and find what you have been doing wrong
Practice makes perfect.
If you don’t like the way things are – change !
If you keep doing the same thing, the same thing will continue to happen !
When in doubt, LAUGH !!
Albert Einstein – ‘Imagination is stronger than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited, imagination encircles the world.”
All that we ever need to know is already inside of us, the fun is in the remembering…those moments of ‘ah-ha’ 🙂
Adaptation:
All that we’re searching for is already inside of us…sneaky little universe 🙂
Why do we keep seeking peace while we are all fighting?
Or what about ” Why fight for peace? (joke)
OR
It’s impossible to win a “War On … (fill in the blank)”.
Companion to #7.
When you find out, innovate.
If it’s inside the house, it isn’t lost. The house doesn’t lose “things”!:
One must find the cause of discomfort…physical, mental, spiritual or emotional…above simply treating the symptom.
The No 10 should be:
Finally remember not to forget all of above! They are what got you down up to No 10!!!
Remember to Remember
Act. All the brilliance of thought, the potential of a hypothisis or the burning of your gut, means nothing without taking the first step.
I resonate with this one Chuck
# 10
How about: “Don’t THINK your way into right action – rather ACT your way into right thinking”.
If it worked once, it is possible.
Always give any potential solution enough time and honest effort to BE the solution.
What will work for your healing will always be just out of reach.
But in the reaching for the solution,
on YOUR road to that perceived solution,
if you remain aware in the moment,
you will “happen upon” the little seemingly disparate bits and bobs of knowledge that will enable YOU to piece together what need be done.
You, then, become the solution.
The prof and his knowledge has become one of my own “bits and bobs’ in the tapestry of my life.
Tom,
How about “Be the solution, not the problem”?
Prof you actually need 2 more because number 11 number 9 are the same.
Don’t trust others over yourself. No one can get in your body and live your life. You can listen to what others tell you and experiment on their words, but deep down inside everyone knows what is right for themselves. Trust your ownself. Listen to your heart and act on the things you know are right for you. No one knows you like you know yourself.
Try this on for size!
If it CAN happen, it WILL!
Ooh Chad – close to Murphy’s Law: if it can go wrong, it will!
It’s a common experience. But not exactly LOGIC, I think 🙂
If you want something done, you may very well have to do something. It goes along with the saying that “you can not plow a field by turning it over in your mind”.
# 10. Change is the only constant.
Your numbers 1, 5, and 9 are basically the same. Should be 1 item not 3.
#10) Common sense is not so Common!
#10) You see what you are prepared to see!
#10) Good health is your most prized asset;
without it, nothing else matters!
EAT YOUR PEAS OR YOU’LL BE OBAMAZIZED!
If you are wrong: ADMIT IT and move on.
Deborah, this could be IT!!!!
So wise, true and logical.
Prof.
If you want to complete something, take the bold step to begin.
You need to experience Failure
in order to appreciate success
Didn’t Edison say that if he could make a light bulb glow for 10 seconds he could find a way to make it glow for 20 sec and then a minute and then an hour and so on…
so if you can take that first step then you can take two and so on and so on…..
So if you can feel well for one day it only logical that you can feel well for two days and three and then a week and a month and so on…
Perception is Projection.
If you do something wrong for your health your body will let you know, listen to your body, It will let you know.
As I was mucking our horse’s stall this morning, the Divine Bovine gave me this offering: “In the end, it all comes out the end”. I am not quite sure what it means, but it may have some metempsychological meaning which I will explore when and if I have time.
Dr. Michel Hone
#10- never leave for tomorrow what you can do today.
#10 THINK
There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems because you need their gifts; Argue for your limitaions, and sure enough, they’re yours; You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true – you may have to work for it, however; You teach best what you most need to learn; (Richard Bach)
Things will work when you least expect them to [don’t let stress impede your progress]
Give Thanks to Our Lord for what you have and He will help you though life.
#10. ‘If you believe that it should work, keep plugging away till you find a way to make it work.”
REASON is a lamentably over-rated faculty. It is only ONE faculty, after all. We have several, don’t y’know….Instinctual, Intuitional, Emotional, Spiritual…….and these can then be graded into higher & lower & further sub-graded….I’ll stop there.
For best possibilities….weigh & balance all faculties, before arriving at your decision
For all current & future cock-ups & calamities…carry on over-estimating the probable cause = Reason
Reason never screwed up anything, that’s the magic of it and why it is so valuable.
LACK of reason is what screws things up – emotion, etc. OR falling off my elementary basics 🙂
#10 (should be #1) is INTENTION. Nothing happens, good or bad, unless you INTEND for it to happen. Learning to focus intention is “The Philosopher’s Stone”……
#1 and #2 might be expressed as, “If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep getting what you’re getting.”
Was the problem with your immune system all the time. This is our bodies’ great healing system. Think again and give it a chance.
Try this
KISS Keep It Simple Stupid (been around a long time)
or
CHOWA (Jap) for Harmony is Strength

Listen, Listen,Truly Listen, when in a think tank, don’t be just getting you’re input ready, because you may miss many gems coming out of the others and put all together, there is THE answer.
If you think and act that you are strong/ clever/ healthy or sick (or
anything else) long and hard enough you will surely be just that.
If you think you are strong, clever, healthy or sick (or anything else) long and hard enough you will surely be just that.
Be very aware of your wishes and desires!
Isn’t that just “fake it till you make it”, Dr Val?
